I'm pretty sure you can change grey to gray (and vice versa) whenever you'd like. But then, I also don't have a problem with "colour," "armour," and "cheque" either, so my gauge may be a little off.
My favorite is dialogue (which is usually Americanized to dialog).
Gray is the verb, grey is the noun.
edit: Like affect and effect; a is verb, e is noun.
Interesting. I'd never heard that before.
While that may be correct, both are accepted as correct adjectives/nouns. Don't know about whether or not they are both accepted for the verb though.
Vurb is the appropriate spelling of verb when using that word as a verb. Hence "vurb" is what results after someone vurbed verb. I just offthetopofmyheaded that.
I have issues with all those aforementioned words. I use odd instead of wierd, outrageous instead of ridiculous, totally instead of definately and I always use grey even thought I'm pretty sure gray is correct (Firefox agrees with that).
Gray is easy because you're right either way.
I realized one day some years ago that I had spelled 'weird' wrong my entire life, and vigorously trained myself to do it correctly. The mnemonic that worked for me was "spelling it this way looks weird."
I liked this thread until we got onto spelling though.
How is that a mnemonic? I don't understand how using the word in a sentence makes you able to remember how to spell it (other than through pure repetition? But that doesn't make it a mnemonic)...
Screw you.
I wasn't trying to be mean, I was just asking. I thought there was something there that I wasn't seeing. =/
Diction Nazi.

As long as we're getting picky in this thread, both affect and effect can be verbs. Effect means "to cause to occur", as in "to effect change".
I just realized that I had never seen any of the posts on the 2nd page when I posted my initial response.
That gray/grey thing is totally made up.
True. But you cannot use effect in place of affect, which is the common grammatical error. :)
And yes, being a grammar (or diction) nazi is one of my weak points. I apologize in advance, I only correct you because I care... and I mean it. I just prefer to try to teach people new things when I can because I like the language as it is :).
edit: The gray/grey one was explained to me by one of my grade school english teachers. I concede that it may not be correct.

OK more proof this is my wife in disguise....

LLOL
(What's ALN again?)
It's not a trap!
ALNx2
And only because I like you Yertle: Audible Laughing Noise
The urban dictionary has it as Action League Now, which clearly was not how you guys were using it.
I looked it up, too. I don't actually like it, I think it's stupid; ironic/self-aware without the humor. I do much prefer llol, it's more sincere.
literally? luxuriously? ludicrously? I'm out of the loop on that one.
