i just laugh when i see tom write this kind of thing!
Edward Nygma wrote:Yes, the territory is fogged, but I think the player should account for these 2 factors when considering the possibility for elimination. If attack dice can't lose and/or the defending territory has 0 units, despite fog, should allow the attack to happen, since there really is no risk of auto-elimination.
I agree with the attack dice part but not when there are zero units in the target territory and the territory is fogged.
If the target territory is fogged then the player doesn't know it has zero units so they don't know if it is possible to eliminate themselves. If the attack is allowed then effectively the player is being given free information about the contents of a fogged territory.
e.g. if you are in that situation you can just attack all the fogged territories surrounding you safely in the knowledge that you will be prevented from attacking any territories with enemy units in and you will be able to capture any empty territories.
Attack is 1-sided, defense is 0 sided, so there is never a risk of elimination when attacking. Limited attacks prevent running rampant through the map, creating a hide-and-seek style of play.
I understand what you're saying, Tom, but it sucks to not be able to attack, when really, you can. I definitely think that perfect dice should allow you to attack, when there's 100% chance of victory... As for empty territories... if you're down to your last unit... I'm not sure that that sort of information is useful, especially if you are prevented from attacking anything. It does give you the information that you aren't allowed to move anywhere, but since you can't win an attack with 1 unit remaining... what good is that information?
Sorry, some of that may be nonsense... I think perfect dice should override the inability to attack with your last unit, and I agree that the ability to attack empty territories only is an issue, and think that it should still prevent the attack regardless of number of defending units. Do you think this is reasonable enough to get changed?
Yes I agree perfect dice override the not being able to see into the territory part. I'll update the code.
Not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but we've got a stuck tournament game:

Not entirely sure what's going on here, but it won't actually start. Mind massaging the engine to fix this?
I... can't find anything wrong with this line of reasoning...
I restarted it... must be something to do with someone surrendering before the game started.
Thanks Tom!

1) The board image and the thumbnail don't match (thumb nail was a old image)
2) The designer won't save any more territories (Ive saved and exited but when i load the designer it reverts back to this save)
Thanks
Ratings are out of 11 stars. I like spinal tap, but...

I can't see any problem here - I could add a new territory and the thumbnails match up. Can you check and try again?

Works fine now... thanks
There does seem to be a delay from the time a board image is updated until the time when the thumbnail is updated. For me, it usually takes a day and is probably a browser related, refresh thingy.
Yes the image will be cached so an F5 is needed to see the update in the various board lists.
in the player, when reoving the units lost in an attack with the neat little fading away circle thing...there is not enough room when units lost are 2+ digits, all you see is the "-" sign and no numbers.
That's been a problem in the past too. But I still see it frequently as well, although sometimes 10 and such show I think.
i knew it had been but i thought somewhere along the lines tom fixed it. course i could be wrong and it's still on his todo list. either way thought i'd drop a blip in here.

I believe he has tweaked it once, but I'd throw in a vote for another tweak too :)
I think Risky's Marvel's Manhattan board that is in Review right now is going to have some problems due to the ' apostrophe in its name.
