So I had a private message but before I clicked on it to open it up I refreshed the page and now the private message is gone, although my WarGear tab will flash New Message every now and then. Any ideas where my messages went?

This looks nice but I'm getting the "Please login to use CometChat" message. Did I miss something earlier in the thread?

I'm working on this one guys - very odd can't quite work out what is wrong but it will get fixed.

Still can't join the lobby from my laptop. Can we get the pidgin chat back? Maybe we can use it for group chat and Cometchat for individual chat :P.

Hmmmm, multiple types of chat system sounds yucky.

From what I've seen so far, the Cometchat is misnamed, should be called CometIM. It works really good as 1-1 comunication but is craptacular as a chat client:

Chatroom button is hard to find.
Lobby doesn't show who is on.
You aren't logged into Lobby automatically.
Doesn't save state across pages.

Which sucks considering you paid for it. Two different chat systems would not be ideal, but at this point even replacing the button on the Cometchat bar to link back to the old chat would be an improvement. Sure some unlucky people were stuck as pink, but it was at least usable.

I'll have some time to work on it this weekend - for me the group chatroom works fine in all 3 browsers (IE, Chrome and FF) so it's a bit of a mystery why others are getting this weirdness.

The IM part does seem to work great though.

There is a 2.0 Beta version which I haven't tested yet, chances are the devs are focusing most of their effort on that and forgetting about the 1.6 version.

is it me or does the 1on1 feature delete after so long?

i've gotten a couple IMs from ppl now that i assume were sent in the evening (i leave my WG window open at work) and if i don't check from home at night then when i come in in the morning theres a notification (little box on the chat bar from the person with a red number) saying i've got a new IM. when i pop it up to read it, whatever is written there disappears.

I was going to report the same.

EDIT: Except that I run a one-machine operation, so you can rule that out as a potential cause. I leave WG up when I'm not at home, and when I return I have "new chat/IM" notifications but there's no text.

Stop leaving yourself logged into chat when you're not there to chat! Pfft.

The chat seems to have disappeared for me recently (just noticed it today but it may have happened earlier). Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, I'm still catching up on threads.
