Well, I don't agree. 135% seems perfectly natural to me because that would indicate that I have performed 35% better than the average player would be expected to. Maybe it's my grounding in baseball stats (like I mentioned earlier), but this seems very clear and natural to me.
Allright folks, we're 12 posts (soon to be 11) shy of the General Discussion record. And that thread is a _STICKY_. It's no "BUGS BUGS BUGS", but I think we've done pretty well for ourselves here. Are name and convention debates the key to ensuring long term success of a thread? Discuss.
h-score
range is 0 to 100 %
(50 is the norm)Alpha: 2*(h - 0.5)
range is -100% to +100%
(0 is the norm)Beta: 2*h
range is 0 to 200
(100 is the norm)
Here's one argument for Alpha, which is what we have now. If go to your personal "player stats" page
http://www.wargear.net/players/info/asm/Player%20Stats
..the positive and negative numbers really jump out at you. You're either at, above or below the norm.
I'd probably go with h-score - it sits nicely alongside Win%.

I concur...although the H Rating is meaning less and less to me the further I read and attempt to understand it. To me it's just growing into a nonsensical stat that I don't care about...

I second the motion, now execute the decision T-Bone
Done and reverted back to the original H Rating definition.
I concur (revert to the original). My suggestion was not well thought out and incorrect as was pointed out above.
I would have said this sooner, but I was on vacation and without a computer. Sorry for this bad suggestion.
Don't be so hard on yourself Alpha. I liked it, but I think the right decision was made, despite the fact.. uh, uh, uuh, ..GAAAAAAAWWWP! Excuse me. ..that it is not appropriately named.
Tom, Why not tenths? Does it look that bad? It settles ties ten times better.
