This is a tricky one for me... it's more about the problem and the fun in finding a solution, it's not a trick or a cheat- the collective converging on a solution is just fun to watch. I mean, I posted a bounty for it. Also, there are loads of non-english speaking members starting 30 matches of wargear warfare per day who could care less about it.
Once a solution (or ultimate strategy) is found, I have no problem pulling the board, or doing that slight adjustment. The board may not live on in this current form. It would be nice for others to go through the same process of discovery that's taking place right now, but it's my board and I'm selfish. I'd like to know.
Again, it's fun, people are having fun with it, play it out.
Tournament is up.
In.
Boom.
Aye.
There is at least one solution vs Black taking the first 3 in rows 4 and 5...

Figures my matches are against the people looking for ultimate solutions to the game haha. So far I'm not my usual dueling self.
Okay guys, new board, using zero-sided dice and capitals as in this board:
1.15x15 squares
2.Each player begins with 112 armies in a pot of troops.
3.This pot can one-way attack any spot on the board.
4.Once a troop is on the board, that spot is claimed a la tic tac toe.
5.Object is to get 5 spots in a row, granting continent status, granting a reinforcement to take the opponents capital.
Doooo it.

And had White taken all 4 rows at the bottom? http://www.wargear.net/games/player/19989
asm is a CYLON!!!

We were close... but it's much different now.

I had the same basic idea, but play to get a box of 4.
One thought I had was that these games have potential to stalemate so I was going to work out some way to get the 2nd player a territory bonus when they take their last square.

If you want to join. Little different than you suggest, but tests played well.

Andernut: I've started already on exactly that.
Amidon: There was talk of that for "Five" the best solution is to make a +1/n territories, but the max right now is 10, perhaps we should suggest raising the maximum.

Didn't realize that. yes, you would need to have a larger n to do a board larger than 4x4.
It shouldn't be hard to adjust that setting right?

The main problem with doing something like this is the attack arrows. They cover the entire board when you click on your bag and it looks terrible. Otherwise I would have implemented six which would be great to play.
Alpha and I had a number, but I forgot it. 21? sounds about right.
25 = 5*5, fits nicely.
Nygma and I reached a stalemate with two spaces unoccupied. 22 would have done it, but not 25.
Perhaps some games require an ending, if moveable armies and bonus for all players is zero, then game is terminated.

White fortifies to the 3rd row instead of the fourth, leaving two points of access to row 4 if and when it's completed, and blocking row 3.
