my first board release. an attempt at dual layer effects BEFORE dual layer came about.
a 2-man game, can you avoid death by the Circle?
Did you do enough test games? I'm a little concerned about the evenness of the positions.
yeah there were many adjustments to try to make the opening positions 'fair'. the top player has the advantage of being able to do a continuous sweep to get it's first bonus, but it has to gain an extra territory to do so. the bottom can hold three big territories by holding only 1 (maybe two) spots on their side of the board, but it costs a bit of time.
the only real buster on this one is that you can lose it depending on the rolling in the first turn. but games have been able to be won by the second turn player about half the time given non-poor rolls by either party.
but i'll be keeping an eye on things and see if they need to be changed in the future. there's already been a couple dozen games started over the wknd and i've perused through them. i'll keep watching.
I think the top player has an advantage particularly if going first. The supply closet can be taken over on the first turn whereas getting a bonus as the bottom player takes 2 turns if you're very lucky, 3 or even 4 if you're not.
He said he'll keep watch, get off his back.
NEW VERSION RELEASED. Please try some more games!!
I think something's wrong with the new version. I started on top with 10, but had to go 2nd! And the player on the bottom started with 12... I lost before I even took my first turn: http://www.wargear.net/games/view/15604
not sure, now looking back i had that happen too, tho i didn't recognize a problem at the time. how did you lose before you started?
not saying it shouldn't be fixed, but i didn't change anything but the number of initial starting units in that territory. any idea if something else might have changed inadvertantly? looked over the rule settings and didn't see anything that i recognized out of place. tom?
Nothing has changed on the player or game engine for a few weeks. The seat order isn't fixed so the starting order is random... I don't see anything wrong there?
i've got the seat order defined as 1, 2; how do you 'fix' it that way? or was it never 'fixed' in place before?

You have to lock player colors to lock seat order .

Old games:
Bottom goes first: http://www.wargear.net/games/player/14619
Top goes first: http://www.wargear.net/games/player/14617
k, so it wasn't locked before. we'll sit on this version for a while. looks like things are pretty even if you throw out poor luck and poor strategy.
