I don't want to complain, but I am not a fan of the new board. It is harder to see and gives me quite the headache. Are you having similar feedback?
Whoops, the original is gone? I will miss it. I thought of it as kind of an icon. Can we have it back?
No problem - have added the original back in for those that prefer it.
Thanks tom!!! They are actually quite a different game, since the new one also has no nuetral positions, which can give a bigger advantage to the first player in some instances.
Hmm OK didn't realise, good point :)
Thanks Tom!!
I turned the Neutrals off because I started an 8-player Dev game and there was just no room for neutrals.
Can we get a better system for dynamically selecting Neutrals from game to game?
I like that there is the option for more or less neutrals, but couldn't it be designer/user selectable like fog is?

You're the first of a dozen or so players that I've heard from that hasn't liked it. Any more specific reasons as to why it is not liked?

i think harder to see and causing headaches are pretty specific reasons.
Well circle mode gives me a headache.
Who wins?

then be merry, there are two versions.

Agreed, two versions seems kind of weird esp. concerning ranking. Right now we've got 3 (War, and these two). Is there a specific reason for this?
Well, this is a site that runs off of user submitted boards. More than one person will have an idea for a map, and different people have different preferences. Some may prefer War, some may prefer Global Warfare. No one person should choose for all.
I haven't yet formulated this into a specific suggestion, but I have to echo bengaltiger's ranking concern: when we have identical or nearly identical gameplaying boards with different graphics, it seems "correct" to say that the games should count towards the same board. ie War,global warfare, and wargear warfare stats should all count towards the same thing since they are the same game (no neutrals, while a different game that may (?) skew towards first player, doesn't skew towards a different person and is not different enough to warrant a separate ranking).
Of course, how different a game has to be to be worthy of distinct rankings is debatable (e.g. does fog on global warfare deserve a separate ranking?)

Well its board rankings not Indepedent Board Idea Rankings
I like the idea that I can now choose a board with or without neutrals. I'm glad toaster decided not to have them just so that we can have a choice. I think that is unique enough to have the two seperate boards. But certainly, war and global warfare are close, so I guess we don't need three.
I've been trying to Ban world maps from any site I play on for 3 years now.....who is with me!!!!
If the borders are clear, the bonuses easy to see and the territory names not require numbers in them than why play it?

LOL. :-)
I reckon that the original Global Warfare map is worth having simply because it is so familiar to anyone that has played the board game, and will therefore help new members have a good initial experience. I know the first 20 games I played were Global Warfare for exactly that reason.

Not really. Photoshop doesn't have "Make easier to see," and "Stop causing headaches," filters that I can apply to the image.
I would still like to know if there is specifically something other than, "It's different, and therefore I don't like it." As in, something that can be altered or implemented for future designs so that they are no longer hard to see and headache inducing.
