I was just wondering how many games people like to have going at once?
The trigger for this question is the player CWalder, who I happened to notice, has 231 games currently on the go and has his/her turn in approx 70 of these. I am involved in about 15 of the games and noticed that I was waiting for CWalder on most at the moment.
Personally I like to have between 20-30 going. Sometimes this can reach 40/50, but that is really the max for me.
Also if I know I'm going on holiday in the next month or so, then I will restrain from joining too many games, and normally end up with about 10/15-ish.
I have run a max of 100 at a time before, but only when I'm not working and don't have that much else to do. Right now I'm around 50, but Ideally for me that number is 30-40.
CWalder has got the bomb in most of the games I'm playing too. I've really started counting that player as neutral.
i've had over 100 games in the past. for a long time i was also 30-40 games. lately i've been running 15-20 open, half of those tourney games.
Very similar to weathertop. It seems many people od on games at first (over 60) and then, after about 2 years, settle down (under 30). Right now I try to stay around 20.

I know what you mean :)
I'm trying to keep mine low - which is around 10 these days, but occasionally things get out of hand and my count goes up toward 20.
I usually try to keep it around 20, but most of those are private or dev, so usually just a few public games at a time.
I have had as high as about 15. But usually hovers around 10. I like to get very involved in my games, so I couldn't really run more an give them the attention I like to. Not to mention all the diplomacy I usually have flying around.
Back in my prime I think I nearly hit 100 a time or two (on the previous site), but now my high is around 10.
I think I hit around 80+, but started losing track. I tend to stay between 30-40. I'll drop down to the 20's in busy seasons. It also depends on how many players. 1 day 4 player games take a lot more time than 7 day 16.
There are some people that seem to keep up with 100+, but 230 is a little ridiculous though, especially if he's bombing out of them. Any penalties for players getting too many boots?
Hows about a too many boots achievement? >50 boots
You could call it the "Mostly Neutral" award.
I think the award should be a mushroom cloud....aka: the timebomb exploded.

nice suggestion, tho it would have to be in relation to the number of games someone has played.
If you have played 1000 games, getting 10 boots might be possible, but not if you've only play 30.
I'm not a huge fan of any kind of boots achievement that actually rewards boots. I prefer 'bootless' achievements like 50 100 500 games without a boot.

I agree. (I'm nearing the 500 games achievement...)

Lets support things that enhance the game, not people dropping out!
I think we need to stage an intervention for CWalder. They've been booted 76/88 games and are currently in 302.
He was on his 30 Premium membership trial, now that it's expired I imagine his open games will drop precipitously. I noticed he is on site a lot, just not enough to keep up. He was just booted in one of my games as he was taking his turn. I suspect he isn't using the "time remaining" display option in his games list.
