I got a really weird error in this game, http://www.wargear.net/games/player/10655, which seems to have totally frozen up (I've tried refreshing, reloading the page, using ctrl+F5). It's stuck on the "Choose a number of units to transfer to your newly captured territory" screen, and won't let me do anything. I'm running Firefox 3.5.8.

Can you not see the transfer box in the middle of the screen? If not I can transfer the units from you (0-59).

Nope, no box.

OK I moved them for you. It's because of the trade cards box I think - I'll see if I can get a fix in.

Should be fine now. The fill layer image was missing for some reason. I've checked the code and found something that could possibly have caused it so it shouldn't happen again.

I received all 3 of these messages when joining a game (by invitation). I usually ignore what is written there (though I know it always says "This game has already started" as soon as I click a join link.

I eliminated a player, received some cards, did not complete my transfer... My wireless got a little testy, so I closed, came back, and now it is stuck on the following problem:

It wants to tell me that I have cards, but will not allow me to close that notification or hit "play turn" - it is expecting me to execute the free transfer first. From the refresh it seems that the free transfer window is right under this "trade cards/play turn" window, but I have no way of accessing or doing anything with it. Same problem on both Chrome and ie

Have you tried using the keyboard? It seems that occasionally the free transfer window gets lost but you can still press "A", or "0", or whatever number you want. I'd say give that a shot. You know, load the game, click once inside the flash, then press the kb shortcut.

When I'm using my office laptop the forums don't work very well at all.

Issues:
1. Quick Reply/Full Editor buttons appear side-by-side at the top left of the page, so I type in the Quick Reply box and scroll to the top of the page so I can submit my posts.

2.I often cannot see text in people's posts unless I highlight it.

3. I cannot see anybody's names.

I can only try via IE (this is using WinXP and probably IE6, I'll get more info at work, the browser doesn't support tabs) so I don't know if it affects other browsers.

My first thought is that it might be an issue with resolution/text size. When I attempt to change the browser resolution (hold down control and scroll with the mousepad) the Quick Reply & Full Editor buttons jump back down to the bottom of the page - though on leaving and coming back to the page they are back in the top left.

i had issues similar to that, and i think it was an IE6 problem. when i upgraded to IE7 they went away. mentioned it to tom at the time and he agreed was an IE thing.

IE6 is not really supported by the site. I should probably put a disclaimer to that effect somewhere. It's incredibly painful making all the css work in both IE6 and later browsers and IE6 users are a very small proportion of the overall site traffic (although arguably there's a causal relationship there!)

Ah okay, I'll suffer through it. No permissions to do installs or upgrades on work laptops. I'm surprised they haven't managed to block me from coming here yet. I need to figure out VPN's ;)

really can't do an upgrade? i'm sure they've a license for it already. or rather i'd be highly surprised if they didn't!

It's not a licensing issue, it's that I'd have to contact someone off in Seattle and say why I -need- my IE and have them put in a work-order to do the upgrade. Having display issues for a wargear forum wouldn't qualify. I can't think of a good reason aside from "I think it's better."

I don't have administrator access - means very little accessibility for system changes.

ah, i thought we had it bad, but at least we have a 's/w center' that we can go and get approved updates from...
