It looks good to me. Things are working well, and it definitely raises awareness of buried real-time games.

This will also allow notifications when it's your turn.
this would be great! especially if we could tag a sound to it, in case we're working on a document or something with WG open in the background.
When I just came on everything appear correct. There were two growls in the upper right for the two games that are available. The look good, but I think they need to have a solid background color.
Yes I think you're right. Actually I think different background colors depending on whether it is a turn notification or a new real time game.
sounds great.
These appear to be working correctly. The few real-time games I have seen open have come with a growl and have filled up rather quickly. Is this a coincidence, or are this growls live for everyone, and is it still just a coincidence or is there evidence to believe that this may get real-time up and going effectively?
i've played more of them because of it...
It's only live to the people in this thread at present. I'm going to update shortly to add notifications without needing to refresh the page.
These are a wonderful addition and, like weathertop, I have definitely joined a couple of games because of the notification.
I've made a few changes:
Checks happen once a minute so if you have multiple browser windows open you may see notifications firing at different times - there's no real way around this at present.
Looks like there are a couple of issues with this at the moment - I'll fix up when I get to the bottom of what's going on.

I think the turn notifications should be separate for Real Time games and Non-Real Time games. I would like to set Non-Real Time Off, but Real Time On.
Although for bonus points it would be cool if I could quickly turn Non-Real Time turn notifications On (without going to Settings), that way if I'm going to be in the Board Designer (lot of time but no page refreshes to get the Turn Waiting thing to update) I could quickly enable it. Although I don't have a good solution for this :p

Check the notification settings page - is that what you mean? As regards a quick setting, that could be arranged I suppose, possibly a quick icon on the settings bar.
Would it be just as easy to set real time games into their own category on the home page, so everybody can always see them, and you can post what time the game was started.

Expanded more than that.
I want Turn Notifications (in Growl) for Real Time games but not for Regular games. Currently it looks like Turn Notifications are both or none.

agreed here, for RT games i'd want a notice immediately when the turn previous to me ends. the nonRT games i'd mostly turn off except when actually working and want to hear a chime or sometihng telling me i can take a break . both of which would be seperate and up to individual choice whether on or not.
this is nice! it will definitely get more RT games going. :)
By RT, you all mean Lightning, right?

"Lightning" changed to "Real Time", so yep. (I don't actually know specifically when or why, but I noticed tom kept calling it Real Time so I updated the Help pages yesterday.)

It was changed from Lightning to Real Time after Hugh moaned for so longer that I finally gave up
I see your point about the separation between notifying on real time vs regular games, I'll add that setting.
