Good board. i like the graphic style and the hordes bonus is nice and simple. I'm not sure if i like the capitols. They seem to be unnecessarily thrown in, if however, i play more games on this board and change my mind, i will revise this review. Nonetheless, it is a fun board! good job.
Globe style graphics are great, but the interconnections of the edge countries that are curving off the map is difficult to decipher. Maybe I just haven't played games where they mattered, but I don't understand what adding the control centers does for gameplay.
It's a big, BIG Hordes!-style board. Graphics are a little clunky - some of the territories are too small, among other things. Gameplay is a little gimmicky with the capitol-style control centers. Since it's so big, it lends itself to 10+ player bouts, which seem to devolve into "who got booted last" contests.
But... how many boards are there on WG that are truly playable for 16 players? Not very many, I'm thinking, which makes this a rare and necessary beast.
Decent to good board. Nice size with cool "globe" graphics, although there are some tiny spaces and I'm not a big fan of random territories and numbering as names.
Basic Hordes! bonus structure with the Capitals in the middle of the sea that provide a bit of a different gameplay/originality. Give the board a shot.
I like this board. Especially when others fight for the capitals, slowly weeding each other out, while I play my favorite board style... hordes. I want to see someone actually use the artillery feature, just because I've never seen it used. Some of the territories are awfully tiny. Overall, this is a board I'll play again.
I have no clue how to rate this board. The map looks beautiful, but the countries are too small, Game play is just down-right weird. What the heck is a Control Center? ..and why are they there? Calling this average or fair would be a misnomer. I can easily see how this game would seem great to some and be a confusing and annoying contrivance for others. My opinion of it falls somewhere in-between, but I refuse to call it average. Hence, no rating.
