I figured I'd start a thread to test this image posting thing.. I'm using imageno.com and the little edit/insert image button provided by the editor here..

Click on the little Picture button in the Full Editor and past the url in there ( http://www.imageno.com/thumbs/20100713/jniixxrjzfpg.jpg ) is what worked for me.

I was trying it out too really. I was trying to get an image in my signature last week and wasn't getting it to work, so I thought something may not be working (but tom may have removed images from signatures, or I was just doing something wrong).

well, ... bugger. GAWP and golly gee. why would it need a .jpg at the end of a url? either that needs to be fixed or this thing needs to allow embedded pictures from file instead of url.

To know that it's really an image or to pull just the specific image (instead of the whole webpage)? I really dunno, but I'd like to see from a file too.

wt it doesn't need an .jpg in particular, but you're trying to tell the poor little text editor to attach an entire web page as an image.
Dunno if Picasa gives you an easier way to get at the actual file name, but you can right click on the image and select properties, and then copy what is listed under Address URL. Usually something strange, like:
