I'm not a big Football fan but i really like watching the world cup. I'm not exactly sure how the eliminations go for the tournament but I'm just gonna throw this out there.

My Pics to move on. Mexico, Argentina, England, Australia, Japan, Italy, Brazil, Spain.

When I need a nap on Saturday afternoon I have three go-to's on the TV: golf, baseball, and ... "futbol." It's the soccer that's most effective.

    ... danger zone! ...

USA tying UK was a great Saturday. We had several chances to actually win, but considering the odds of us doing so in the first place I'll happily take the tie.

This is the first year I'm actively following the sport, but I'm enjoying it so far.

USA are doing pretty well actually. You've been really close to a win in the last game but the referee was awful. I saw the title of a USA newspaper: "USA 2 - Slovenia 2 - referee 0"

    Sadly true.

I totally disagree. Being in that position to begin with is inexcusable. Come on - down 0-2 to Slovenia? Especially after talking so much trash in the media.

But I don't actually root for the USA side, I'm a Mexico supporter. So times are great for me!

I supported Mexico too (expecially against France! d= )

I can understand what you're saying, as the same thing happened with Italy - New Zeland yesterday. NZ goal wasn't regular, yet Italy should have scored at least 3 goal against NZ. I'm disappointed and not looking for excuses. No one is here.

Anyway, don't be too harsh with USA team! d=
USA tied with England and that's a good result and although they were down 0-2 to Slovenia, they recovered and could actually win! The offside wasn't there! I can't understand how the referee's assistant could call it!!!

    O___o

Mexico (and pretty much all of the South American teams) are doing awesome. Europe, on the other hand, is failing massively. I'm still a USA supporter though.

Well, Spain looked like they came to play today. Sadly for the Honduran guy who was replacing my toilet (and watching my TV) while I was at work today.

European teams are doing badly because top clubs in europe have an huge percentage of players from other continents. The only exception is Spain.

    That's sad...

We're gonna have some good games today, and with them deciding some groups I'm looking forward to see the results.

Mexico had better catch up. The French situation remains hilarious.

Well, France did about as well as I expected them too (too bad I had them moving on in my bracket... not that they deserved it), and Uraguay owned group A. Hopefully Greece will make it out of Group B this afternoon... it will take Nigeria beating South Korea though, so we'll see. =/

There's absolutely no way Greece advances. They are about to lose to Argentina by at least 2, fixing their point total at 3 and their differential at -3. If South Korea wins or ties against Nigeria, they go with 6 or 4 pts. If Nigeria wins, their differential will be good enough to advance over both South Korea and Greece.

Well, I may have been wrong. I didn't anticipate how easy Argentina was going to take it on Greece. I'm rooting for the Koreans now, though. Don't much like the style of play by the Nigerian side.

EDIT: And moments after I declare my allegiance, there's the second goal for South Korea. Things looking very bleak for Greece now.

Not wrong at all, as it turns out. I should have had more faith in myself.

Indeed. Oh well, it just so happens that rolling a d4 to decide who advances from each group isn't the best method afterall :P.

We'll see if flipping a coin for the elimination rounds does any better ;).

    Argentina's gonna win! XD
They've got a tremendous team. Maybe defense isn't perfect, but the whole... wow!
And it'd be interesting to see Argentina - England d=

What I'm afraid of, is Italy that, if it manage to advance to the next round, is gonna play against Spain and then Brazil.... Definitely not a good situation!

    XD
