Ever wondered how the game would have turned out if your opponent hadn't rolled that freak run of sixes? With the new Replay feature you can settle this argument once and for all.
Game Replays can be performed on any game by anyone. Replayed games are immediately marked as 'Private' games (ranking points aren't applicable) and all players playing at the defined replay point are invited to join. Tournament games become non-tournament games for obvious reasons.
Game Reverts are only available if you are the board designer playing a development game on your own board design. This is designed to improve the test process by granting the ability to quickly jump back to turns to test different possible outcomes.
Both replays and reverts are performed by viewing the game log and clicking on the icon in the 'R' column on the right hand side.
I blame you for having 19 invites of a Replay game... ummm there any restrictions here???
All with a semi-confusing "Host" player...ie http://www.wargear.net/games/join/104700 (ps this is 1 of 19... :) )
Seems like a good Premium only feature... along with Lightning games should probably move towards the default 2/3 day timer shouldn't they?
Can I start a Replay for a game I'm not a part of? Seems like I can when not logged in (I can click the link and get the box, haven't clicked replay yet since it wasn't really my game...)
*edit*... yep, was able to restart a game I'm not a part of :)
Ah ha yes good on thanks Yertle that's been fixed and the games deleted
I've been waiting for this since I came to WG. Thanks Tom...great job!!
What happens if not everyone joins?

This is my question too...what if I do not want to replay 4 restarts of the same game that wasn't that fun in the first place?
Yertle wrote:Seems like a good Premium only feature...
Definitely - very perk-like. Of course, the Premium should be able to bring along all involved Standards into such a game.
I think this will be awesome.
Good call this is now a Premium only feature.
If you are invited to a Replay game then you can just decline it same as any other game. The game will then effectively be unstartable.

Is there a "decline" option, so the originator can quickly tell that the game will be unstartable? ..or does it stay in the cue/que?
Can you invite a new player to fill the spot of someone who doesn't want to play?

That doesn't really make sense does it? Or at least align with the "reasoning" of the Replay feature.

It does, and it's come up in this way. Where I've seen it come up is puzzle boards where a draw or a forced win is claimed, there is skepticism, and one player cares while the doesn't. So, "interested people" are called in to replay, analyze, and discuss. (We've done this by replaying moves -the button will be much nicer!)
I could even see wanting to do this from a position in a game me and my friends never played in.
You can now decline replay games so they not appear in your games lists.
Yeah - what Hugh said. Imagine a game with four players A,B,C,D. At some point in the game D is nearing elimination, and A,B,& C are about even. Maybe the manner in which D gets eliminated is crucial to the rest of the game. Player D might not want to participate in the replay just to be eliminated because it will be boring to them, but maybe another player will do them a favor of taking that seat and playing it out, even though they have very little chance.
Or maybe the game could go ahead and start, and players that don't join get skipped/booted like usual. Logistics of that might be complicated.
yesyesyesyesyesyesyes. Thx Tom.
This feature has been re-enabled.
Where is this feature? On what pages?
