I think we should still follow the original schedule, even though we are 9 days behind in choosing the theme. That gives Dec 31, 2011 as the date maps are due (due I believe means submitted for review).

It looks like Old West/Westerns wins with 14 points.
Close behind was Steampunk with 11 points.
I counted Hugh's vote towards Old West & broadened the theme to Old West/Westerns because we have previously discussed how the theme can be interpreted broadly.
Sounds like a great theme! Can't wait to see the results!

I don't know if this was discussed or not, but I assume that people can work together on a map and split the (hopeful) prize as they please -
If this is a the case, and someone with some graphical skills would like to partner, I have a couple ideas that probably are not that graphics heavy, but beyond my time/skills to manage.
