If I were to start a Wargear the Gathering tourny how many spots should i open up, im not really sure how many people play that board?  I'd appreciate the feedback guys and gals.

Never played that board but would recommend the lowest possible for the tournament type.  Kind of like diamonds, keep the supply low and people want it more :)

im trying to figure out who to invite, or who likes playing that map, i know a couple but not a lot so if you like that map or do well on it and want a trophy let me know and ill send an invite, also how do i make a trophy?

Go on the board's page. Select Ranking and see the names of the players who are used to play this map...

You can also look at Ratings and see the ones who appreciate this board.

Sure, I'll play... I'd recommend round robin for this sort of thing. With small numbers, round robin will provide enough games to be fun.

For my tourney I took an internet image and used Microsoft Picture Manager to resize it to 400 x 400 pixels (50 x 50).
