What happened to the dual layers function?
Nothing.

The option isn't avaliable
Should be for Fill Mode boards on the Settings tab. I'm seeing it without a problem currently, you have a link?

mine didn't show up either until i did something (had something to do with the fog layer). once i allowed a fog layer then the dual option came up.
I just hit this last night. I forget which setting I changed - one of them in the "Settings" list, but when I changed it and then changed it back the layering option appeared.
as in the 'settings' Settings (as in where you set work mode, etc)?
No, as in the "Settings" tab in the Board Designer
oh that's right, i think i vaguely recall there being a bug where you had to click the pulldown menu for board type and change it before both options appeared or something.
From my experience, you have to save the board before you can change it to dual layers.
Found it! - its the Fill/Circle in Design Mode that has to be toggled for Dual layer to pop up.
I'll fix this with the next Designer update. There are a few niggles which need fixing.
niggles
Will this fix the niggle that when you want to change some settings (like Fog) to the first in the drop down list you don't have to change it before you can really change it? (Example, have Fog set to Light, Save, attempt choose None you can't, you must choose something else first then None.)

And here I thought niggles were like bed bugs...
Wow...I learn something everyday:

Uh maybe... I agree that is incredibly annoying. And I haven't actually designed a map in 18 months ;)
