ISO the New Unread Messages Icon on the Main Forum page so I don't have to remember Last Post times :P

Here's an idea - when a new player signs up, automatically generate a 1v1 game on WarGear War or whatever it's called. You can have a group of players similar to the Review Board called the Welcome Board that all get invited to these games so they can answer any questions the new player may have and help to lead them through at least one game. That way all they have to figure out themselves is how to use the chat box at the bottom.

No kidding!
yeah, not a fan asm. i like the quick tutorial that incorporates the basics better.
My first idea was to assign newbies to a "Welcoming Committee" of which one trusted veteran would post on their profile a hello message, but that seemed too indirect.

I vote that Risky posts on each new member's wall, a colorful limerick utilizing their chosen player name.
Seconded! This should also be retroactive. I want one!
What rhymes with 'bengaltiger'?
HAHAHAHA
Bengal, I got ya.
Yes, yes you did. Thanks ;-)
Trash-talking limerick round-robin!
Along came a player named asm,
whose game was utterly weak and feminine.
His single greatest hurdle,
was a nemesis named Yertle.
Who destroyed asm in every game that he played with him.
Forget the need for Risky; I'm on a roll here.
Wow. I'm impressed with that one.
Me too and the truth!
There once was a man named Toasta'
Maps as fun as a broke rollercoasta'
Gets kind of showy
"that border is snowy!!"
Unplugged, still a chance that he'll roast ya.
There once was a chappy named Yertle
Who swore truce or his own goose would curdle
But he ended, "IMO"
Which just goes to show
You never can quite trust a turtle.
