That would have been fixed by the reindex. If you check your ranking history for that board the game should only be listed once.
True. This reindex thing is very powerful. Thanks
Yes, this reindex thing is very powerful and I will need it again. Am I paranoid (like when I say everybody is aiming at me) or does it happen to other players ?
Anyway, it happened to me again :
Every now and again I'm having a problem with the board Ranking History tab. It starts to load the graph but then becomes unresponsive and gives an error box saying, "There is a script on this page that is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. If you continue to run this script it may become unresponsive. Do you wish to continue the script?"
Before I can click Yes or No it locks up the player and then after about 2 minutes it crashes the Adobe Flash Player. This has happened on several different computers so I'm guessing it's not a problem with the computer.

This has been happening specifically with the Axis & Allies board.
Game Join page has the link associated to Board Name as the Scenario board page, which then isn't very user friendly when attempting to Create Game from one of those pages (really probably shouldn't even be a Create Game button for Scenarios unless that Board/Scenario defaults on the Create game page, or the link should be to the Main Board page).
He has risen!
I'm back about games being debited 2 or 3 times. It seems that the reindex has not been done yet, but I found something else related to that : in the Antastic board, the Rankings page says I am number 2 with 1732 points. But the Ranking History page's chart says I am number 1 with 1758 points, which is also what is given by My Ranking History page. Weird ?

I've recalculated the stats, is it resolved now?
tom wrote:I've recalculated the stats, is it resolved now?
The Antastics stats are now correct, but I'm afraid that my Global Ranking is still wrong. It was debited of 36 points by mistake, but the credit you have just done is a +27.
Also, trying to understand how you got this 27 (they seem to come from the Antastic calculation), I found something VERY VERY WEIRD. I can assure you I did calculate it again and again as I could not believe what I discovered. Many of the calculations are wrong, and it's not a problem of rounding :
2506/1605*20 is equal to 31.23, rounded to 31, not 33.
It looks like there is a bug somewhere...
I believe a My Ranking History would be very usefull for the Global Ranking and for the Tounament Ranking (like it is done on the boards' page).
The tounament notification emails should also give the details of the ranking calculation, like for ordinary game.
All this would help to understand better...
I know this bug was brought up before, but I don't know where it stands. In the board designer, by selecting:
Initial Unit Count by Player or Territory: Player
Number of units per player: x
Decrease unit count by player: 0
Initial Unit count Minimum: x
Territory Selection: Automatic
Unit Placement: Automatic
Neutral Count: Low
Expected behavior: Each player (including neutral) will start with random territories and x units will be allocated to those territories in the normal fashion (i.e. as close to evenly distributed as is possible).
Actual behavior: Each player (excluding neutral) has the expected behavior and x of the neutral territories have x units and the rest of the neutral territories have 1 unit.

This bug should now be fixed.
Thanks, I will test it out.
*edit - It works better than I had expected and I like the current implementation. However, it may still not be correct. The small problem is that currently the neutral player is not receiving any units (which is actually what I wanted with my current settings), but this may not be the desired functionality. If noone has an objection to this, then I am happy with the current functionality; otherwise please let tom know.
To be clear, the fix that tom implemented had the following functionality:
Settings as above with x = 10.
If there are 10 (or 6, 7, 8, 9) neutral territories at the start, each territory gets one unit, 5 (or 4) territories will get two units each, and 11 (or above) territories will get zero units. That is; each neutral territory will get (number of starting units) / (number of starting territories) rounded down.
This is in contrast to the player's start with the same setting, where the units are placed as above, but the additional units (those lost from rounding) are then randomly placed on the territories so some territories have more units than others.
Hmm perhaps it should be rounded up to 1 if there are no units on the neutral spot.
It's not a big deal, but the home page has lost the memory. The games under "Your turn in these games" are not ranked according to Turn Timer, like they used to be. You have to click on it each time.
Not a big deal neither, when you have sent a message in one game, the envelope is flashing as if someone sent a message. But it's still your own message.
tom wrote:Hmm perhaps it should be rounded up to 1 if there are no units on the neutral spot.
For my current usage, either would be fine.
This may be related to the latest enhancement (show ranking calculation on game view for completed games). I just finished a game and the private message notification when out correctly, but in game I got the old pop up "You have won the game" or some similar without all the bells and whistles.
Thanks - that should be fixed now.
Summer is fast approaching and I'm thinking of designing a board or two but I'm still not able to upload any images from my imac. This time I've noticed something that may bear on the problem.
I get the upload dialog box and am able to browse for files as normal, but instead of a "Send" button I get an "Open" button at the bottom of the browsing window. I don't recall this being different than when I used a PC ..but with a Mac, I suspect it might be a clue to the problem.
Another possibility may be extension related. I'm able to download a file from an existing board, but the extension is not included and I have to manually type it into the name of the file.
In the following game, it is my first turn, and I am not recieving the same number of units as it shows I should recieve in the stats grid. Is there a map feature in place that sets my first turn units, or is this something more sinister?
