I just realized I am going to be away from any computer access for a few days, how do I set my vacation option? Is it per game or do I do something and it automatically affect all my games?

It affects all games. Set it under "settings"->"vacation".

k, thx Ozy, I have it set, is there any way to confirm it is working? when i go into a game it doesn't say 'on vacation' or anything like that.

It currently shows you as On Vacation until 10/31/11. You can view this on your home page or on the Pre-Game screen of any game you're in. It will show you're on vacation in brackets next to your name.

It should be possible to play WG boards in real-time ..without the wait, regardless of how many are playing.
Make sure you take all outstanding turns before your vacation ends - or before you end your vacation should you decide to end it prematurely.

Squint - Because it's bitten a few people before, I will give these 2 notes:
1) I highly suggest adding 1 day AFTER whenever you expect to be able to play again.
If you come home before that, and turn off your vacation status, you WarGear won't deduct the unused vacation days from your total.
It also gives you the freedom so that if you had problems with travels/computers it would carry past when you're supposed to be gone.
2) When you finally do come back, make sure you finish all of your turns before you turn off the "on vacation" status.
If you've got games that have 2 day timers, and it's been your turn for 3 days, and you turn off your vacation timer before you play the turn, you will automatically get skipped.
So play your turns first...then turn off the vacation.

sorry for reviving an old thread; how do you turn off vacation mode early?
i think i've made a reasonable effort looking through my profile page and the vacation settings page but couldn't find anything

What's wrong with that second link? That should do the trick. Put your cursor in the start window and a calendar will appear.

what date would i set to turn off vacation mode? is there a button i'm not seeing in the calendar that turns off vacation?
can't set backward dates or overlapping dates with what's already set either

You can't end the final day of vacation early. That is, on the scheduled last vacation day, you won't see the button to end it manually. Does that explain it for you?
