So my computer got a virus and it either deleted all my map projects or else hid them from me.... yeah, i'm super bummed about it. I'm working on possibilities for recovering my folders, and i'm still hopeful, but this has been a big set back in working on maps.

wow - that sucks! :(  Although I have my wargear stuff stored on a NAS & do backups to an external drive, I still worry about that myself.

This is something I wasn't worried about, but I am worried about it now and will have to do a back-up.  Good luck Jigler.

    Try this:

    http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/unhide.exe

It unhides all of the folders that got set to hidden.

Make sure you have cleaned it with MalWareBytes before you run this.

I clean this off of client computers about once a week.

    I second Raptor's suggestion.
Malwarebytes is an amazing tool to have, and works wonders to fix pesky problems.
I use it on infected systems at least once a week.

I am using Windows Live Mesh and SkyDrive for backup.  It works really well.
