Just thought I would share:
So I was at the lake house with my in-laws and wife's siblings/nieces/nephews for the Memorial Day weekend. I was soon sporting and ear-to-ear grin when my 16-year old nephew Caleb said "Hey Uncle Chris, I'm going to play RISK with Allison, do you want to play?".
The lake house has board games, but not RISK. Caleb brought up the game, and it was an original (American) version from 1959 with the wood cubes for armies! We used the rules in the game, which called for cards to be dealt to determine who got which territory, but you only got to put one army in each territory and that was it before the game started.
I mercilously pounded by niece into oblivion and cashed in her cards to unload on Caleb. It would have been a blast even if I got trampled. Since the 80's I may have played the actual board game RISK once maybe. Such fun!

I used that board image as the basis for Colossal Crusade, the wooden cubes is also why the fill is squares on the board.
After the game did you invite everyone to WarGear???
He has risen!

Well, from the sounds of it, you showed them no mercy. Why would they be interested?

LOL I love it.
Little did your niece know you have been spending YEARS practicing for that moment!

I know! :)
My wife could be seen across the room just shaking her head at me.
Yeah, I played at a family reunion a couple months ago, and after mentioning that I was currently playing 32 games, and statistically win 54% of the time, I lost to my 9 year old niece.

For God's sake - Don't tell her about wargear! ;)

What an appealing and calming picture. I would be in favour of trying it out if I remember to create it later.
I'd love to change my avatar to a picture of BlackDog holding his head in his hands while his niece celebrates across the table....
