Pangaea: Rise of the Chimp
The story of the evolution of the modern human can be traced back through many upright forms, but must at some point have originated from a monkey whose mode of transportation was on all-fours. Then, there came the first upright monkey (probably several in the evolutionary latter which failed). One of these upright monkeys evolved into the modern human.
This board is meant to mimic the evolution of the modern human from an all-fours monkey in the following manner:
Each of the players start randomly distributed on the all-fours monkeys on the map. These monkeys are dim-witted in comparison to their descendants. Therefore, they may only move (attack) into adjacent territories and all attacks are weak against more modern species (they always attack/defend with 6 sided dice).
As the board progresses, players should evolve into the upright monkeys that are smarter and quicker than their ancestors. They can move faster that the all-fours monkeys (attacking up to two territories away) and have better tactics in combat (they always attack/defend with 7 sided dice).
Finally, the board will progress into the humans. They are the most advanced of the monkey species using weapons in warfare (always attack/defend with 8 sided dice) and use devices to travel faster and further than any other species (they can attack up to three territories away).
There are no bonuses for possessing the all-fours monkeys other than those coming from the territory count. The upright monkeys and the humans have hordes style bonuses as depicted on the map itself. Once players have evolved to the human form, it is very easy to move from one side of the board to the other and therefore one human form should quickly come out on top of the others.
Good luck and enjoy.
