Why can't we do this? I understand in public games but why not in private?
We used to have so much fun coming up with map specific names. If it's a coding thing, I understand that, but if it's for another reason I would like to debate endlessly and never come up with a consensus, so everything stays as it is.
okay, I will start the discussion. Why do we need this?
Actually, I see nothing wrong with this, but I don't see this as having any priority unless it is easy to implement.
You can still be creative with map specific names when creating games.
I'll back him up, then. I was never a fan of the phenomenon in the first place, because it just meant I'd never know who was saying what. The larger point in this case, though, is that even if this would take Tom no more than 5 minutes to code, that's 5 minutes that could be better spent.
I liked the fun factor part of it but the 'I'll pick the same name as another player so I have to go to their profile to find out who they really are' part annoyed me lots.
Names in private games could be displayed something like this to make it clear who each player is:
"Nickname" (Username)

Fantastic; I cannot wait to join them.
