Know this has been mentioned recently, but couldn't find it again. Thought i'd start a new thread to catch Tom's eye.

Things are realllly starting to clog up when things are loading again (be it game list page, forums, or games themselves).

I've made a few changes (added table indexes etc) which should speed things up.

I'll monitor this more closely. What times are you finding it slow generally?

all the time? haven't been paying attention to when. i'll try to keep a closer eye on it today.

Is the site down for everyone except for me?

I've been monitoring the site performance over the last few days, it seems to be a lot better since I optimized the database, anyone else got any feedback?

It's seemed better to me too, but I haven't been checking too closely.

Last night was rough. There was a period of about 20 minutes (around midnight CST iirc) where it was taking 10-15 seconds for any command to go through (using keyboard shortcuts; didn't try just clicking). After that, the site just plain wouldn't load for about 10 minutes (browser would just stick trying to connect and not do anything), but all other websites were fine. I of course did not check if it was just me or not =/.

Strange - I can't see much really happening in the server logs that would cause slowness - it's not a particularly heavy utilisation time for the site.

The one thing that does happen at 2am EST is the nightly database dump - that would be 1am CST, is that about right or too late?

I've changed it to 3am EST which should be a quieter time overall.

Nah, I was in bed at that point. If it happens again I'll try to note the exact time and check downforeveryoneorjustme.

over the last half hour...been hell loading games, and keep getting an non-response error (Send game action failed. This could be caused by network or server problems. Please click on Retry or Cancel.) when taking my turn.

Right now the player is being slow. Sometimes taking 10-15s to execute commands.

I'm having quite a bit of slowness right now.
