The player colors are actually kind of hard to see, though artistically the map is pretty. It's basically a bunch of somewhat-defensible areas on the outskirts of the map and a giant indefensible field in the middle. Most of the battling seems to take place on the edge. Not sure how I feel about that, but it takes a little bit of getting used to.

becomming my favorite board for large amounts of players - the 1 day turn limit makes maps like this possible

Due to the map design it is fun for large groups as FFA, 2 teams, or multi teams

In my experience it turns into a more "deadlock" type game with large armies and fairly secure boarders

A lot of fun. Many good and defensible areas. Agreed that cards really come into play, which can drag out games that are otherwise over.

What happened to this board? The redesign looks pixelated, drab and low contrast. The old design was fine, why change it?

UPDATE:
I just learned that the old version is still accessible, but that this version was made to give the map fill territories. I prefer the old version, but now the fill crowd can be happy too.

One of my favorite boards. It can end in cascades but it's all about being aggressive and timing.

The game ends up becoming who ever gets a card turn to knock someone out then a cascade effect if they keep getting cards. I have seen teams go from 30 troops to winning in two turns.

yet another fun board when you have a big group especially with fog. would like to see the cards not play as big a factor though and would be nice if their was a version like colossul crusade w/ a limit of 5 for card trades.

cards got pretty insane pretty fast (in a bad way). 0 elimination bonus is dumb. you get 60 units for taking 1 country per turn and 0 for actually killing someone.

Card bonuses get too high, too quickly. Should have a version where card bonuses are fixed at 5 or 10.

Game's over before anyone has a chance to go for the larger regions.

Tough board. Played with quite a few people which made it only so-so. I can see why people like it.

Maybe the cards bonus are going too high, but at the same time, if it was not, the game would last forever

A fun map, but if you are in the middle of the board you are doomed. The elimination bonus combined with the high number of armies for turning in cards at the endgame can really throw the game off. My last turn in the game I was able to put over 150 armies on the board due to elimination/card bonuses, no one else stood a chance.
