The neutrals dictate the flow of the game early on so much so that if you aren't lucky enough to grab one you're already at a disadvantage. There are exceptions, but not usually. They are so powerful that it can be a very successful strategy just to grab 3-4 early and wait to spring into action for the first kill. The issue I take with this is simply how do you counter such a strategy?
Secondly, the map has so much strong areas that you always get a LOOONG game. Dull endgames are common here.
But these things aren't crippling.
This map is still probably one of the best large party maps I've ever played.
Another great board for statergy, however I will dito some of the other comments made. Needs to be played with fog and for a real challenge alot of players. Not an easy board to win.
Love the design even if I do get my butt kicked every time. But I agree with IRsmart it needs fog to keep it going otherwise players just stock pile guys and never attack.
The player colors are actually kind of hard to see, though artistically the map is pretty. It's basically a bunch of somewhat-defensible areas on the outskirts of the map and a giant indefensible field in the middle. Most of the battling seems to take place on the edge. Not sure how I feel about that, but it takes a little bit of getting used to.
