Would it be possible to get a written history so that it's easier to see a big chunk at once rather than attempting to watch a whole map a turn at a time?  On WF I use the basic History much more often than the movie history.  Also it would be nice to see what dice were rolled and modifier info (quite similar to WF but could be improved on a bit probably).

Much more often. I watch a bit of a movie once every 100 games or so, but I check the written history more than 50% of the time I take a turn.

I agree, the current history method is a bit dificult to get around in and somewhat tedious.

Yes I agree - it's on the ToDo list.

I just want to reaffirm how important this history tab is to me... I feel naked without it!
