    I did 10 days of vacation from January 18th-January 27th but it says pending please approve it. I am in Eastern time zone.

    There is no approval process. I'm pretty sure it just says 'pending' because it's still in the future. When the 18th gets here it'll say "active" or something like that.

    Yes, now that we're in the 18th it says vacation, so no problem.

    I'm pretty sure it also means that if it's still in "Pending" status and you cancel the vacation it wouldn't count towards you for the vacation days allotment. Once it transitions to Active, then you're officially using your vacation days.

    Though once active you can cancel a set vacation part way through and get back any unused days
