I'm a first-time player.

I created a game.

I invited players (all of whom are also new to WarGear).

Everyone I invited successfully joined.

How do I actually START the game???

It seems like it is my turn first (though I'm not really sure).

I click on the game name but there is nothing that will allow me to launch the board and begin play.

On your 'my games' page, what is in the 'status' (far right) column?

Did you invite enough players to fill the game?

The status is "Open".

There are five people that have joined the game - everyone that I had invited. No outstanding invitations remain.

It sounds like you have some open seats still. Maybe you accidentally created a game with too many seats.

Back on the 'my games' page, how many boxes do you have in the Players column?

It might help if you copy the URL for the game here also.

When you create the game you can change the number of seats in the game (for most boards).  Then the game automatically starts when it's full.  When the game status is "open" there are still empty seats.

It doesn't seem right to me. I can be happy to join a game with 8 players and be very disapointed if it had been reduced to 3 without me knowing.

With the exception of boots, surrenders and people leaving... yeah, I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Ok sorry, I misread. I understood "When you createD the game you can change the number of seats" (later on).

 Oh no, no later changing, only at time of creation. 

The game is started now. It was recording one player as un-joined so I manually joined him.
