The easiest way is to export the board XML, and then use my advanced map editor:

    http://prestopnik.com/wargear/MapEditor/

    Then re-import the XML.

I have some documentation online for my map editor:

    https://sites.google.com/a/prestopnik.com/wgame/

But let me know if you have any questions, and I can walk you through it.

In general though j you have to make each territory and all those that border that territory a continent.

Study the continents on this Escherdiles board J.  It's like amidon says.

If you just have a dozen or so it's probably easier to do by hand. If it's a big map with a few dozen or more territories it's probably easier to use the automated version.  Another bonus to the automated version is that it can be easy to introduce errors when doing it by hand.
