No. I think that should be perfectly fine.
In another thread we were talking about filling neutral with a pattern rather than a solid color to distinguish it from real players, similar to what is now done for fog.
Another possibility would be to have an user display option to have a distinct pattern for every player. You could turn this option on if you were colorblind or if you were having problems in a particular game telling two players apart because their colors were too close.
