Hello, I am about to turn in cards in a Colossal Crusade game "No Fog - 1 day turn limit - Horus", created on 3-30-2015, but there seems to be a problem. It shows that I will only get 5 armies for the turn in when it should be 32. Somehow it seems to have reset.
that board/scenario combination only has a repeating card scale of: 5,6,7,8,9,10,5
The last turn in received 30 armies. Is this a flaw?

That's incorrect.
It goes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 5 ....
Below is the settings from the designer
Well that sucks. I could have turned in my set last turn. Why would it be allowed to be set up that way? Maybe it's an error by the designer. That probably cost me the game. No board should have the card bonus reset, only escalate. When playing this board, how many people do you think would actually know this?

I guess I'm a dummy with this but where can I find this type of information?
Go to the view of any game
http://www.wargear.net/games/view/420549
and at the top of the page there is a blue diagonal arrowish icon,
Green Dot Stables [Live] | |
---|---|
Board Name | Colossal Crusade by Yertle |
..which will be bring you to the board designer for that particular game's scenario. in the case the designer for the above game is here..

This is exactly what the board designer sees as they create a board.
The card values are one of those little things that I feel has never been displayed quite right. Also the display of the card values has been prone to bugs in various locations-
For example here is a screen shot from the game in question when you click on the "rules" button in the native player -
Note that it looks like the card values reset at 18. That is wrong as my earlier screen shot (and your experience) shows.
I think it needs to be more defined, in other words rectified. I went to the board page and that didn't help. I like to go into a move knowing the value of a card turn in. We get a pop up when we have a set, why can't we get a warning that the designer set this up a special way. We shouldn't have to go through all of this detail of thoroughly investigating every button of the design of the game. I just want to play a game that is cut and dry. Thanks, I guess that I will just have to take the loss and avoid this board in the future.

why's the board viewer give different info then? hell why are they all different?...
the solar scenario shows: 5,6,7,8,9,10,5
the designer shows: 5-30 by 1s (not sure what the ramp value means off the top of my head)
the native player 'rules' shows: 5,6,7,8,9,10,12,14,16,18,5
the flash player 'cards' tab shows: the next 7 turn-ins (same as game info page)
might have to have tom fix these inconsistencies

It does say in the Player what the next turn in value will be - in two places, when you go to actually turn in cards and here:
It also says it on the game view page under "Next Card Set Worth".
Thanks, Tom. I pretty much always review the GREEN next card set value unless it was wrong or I just plain missed it. It would be nice to have a warning stating that if you don't turn in cards now it reverts back to the original turn in value. To keep things simple it is much easier to just have an escalating or steady turn in value. I guess that I just wanted to play without that much involvement in detail. Thanks again.

I don't disagree that it should be more clear, but some boards definitely depend on a repeating card scale.
IMO - if the card scale is not a standard escalating scale it should be indicated ideally on the board itself, and if not than on the description and/or wiki page.
i personally have *no* issues with actually looking at the board page to find the card scale information. i don't need (nor really want it) on the image itself as it's already in the player window.
However, the board info needs to display correctly -- which we've already pointed out has bugs

Agreed, I'll get this fixed.

*spits out coffee* WHAT?!
Sounds like this has been kind of resolved, although for my Boards I would like to point to the About which I try to highlight some significant changes in that description...ie "This Scenario removes Fog, enables History, and has a rotating custom Card scale."
Happy Gearing!
