What is it with sooooo many of the players on this site? Very, very few folks post in-game remarks. This includes teases, compliments, congrats, etc.

Some folks actually seem AFRAID of written communication. We must have a large percentage of nerds and dorks.

Many games actually finish without a single PM. I THINK there are human beings I'm playing against, but sometimes it's good to get some confirmation.

Sometimes I get tired of seeing my own voice...

    Why door knobs?

Door knobs just sit there doing nothing hoping folks don't notice them. BTW, how does one "see" his own voice? What is this magic that you speak of? ;)

The forums have been quiet this week.   As I recall from the results of a test someone posted on an earlier thread - I am a certified nerd.  So I take offense to your comment - I talk a lot.

Kidding aside .. I have noticed that there's much less talking in fogged games.  In fact, the more fog, the quieter the game.  I'm guilty of this myself.

I do know what you are saying Thingol.

On one hand I generally detest in-game strategy chatter. (Including "truces").  I know a lot has been said on this and I there are many that disagree with me but it is not my style.  This may stem from middle school where RISK was my circle of friend's favorite game but we had one guy who loudly told other people what they should be doing and would gloat when we didn't follow him (usually out of spite) and things went poorly.

I do like the camaraderie chatter though, especially with people I have played with for years, so facilitating that is cool.  Which is one reason I am playing more team games now.  Messages among your teammates is usually essential to winning those games.

It certainly is my voice. I can tell, because it causes me predictable sets of aggravations (read: pleasurable pastimes).  Like trying to outlast Amidon in a game of Cubes (which I'm not going to), or unwittingly making myself the fist leg of the crab to be cast off, or stumbling upon other payer dissertations... it's definately my voice.

And I know I see it because I just had to put my glasses on! Wink

Red + Blue = Db major; more red = Ab major

Is it possible to hi-jack a thread called "Door Knobs?"

More of an Ab minor. Add a touch of yellow and you get Ab Dorian.

And it is entirely on topic as the OP was concerned by a lack of commentary.

Anything dorian definitely has green. Like a yellowy baby puke green.

Yeah, I get that.. There's something pastoral ..or even foresty about dorian - in any key.  I've considered the colors of the modes, but I'm intrigued by the idea that key it sits in has even more impact than the scale itself.

Nah, the form of the scale picks the spectrum, key is all about hue...

Only if you have perfect pitch. And synesthesia. Pastoral green works for me though. My first experience with Dorian was in the context of Appalachian folk music. I can still feel the glissandos between the sixth and the flat seventh down deep in my bones.

My pitch is only relative - but when I'm playing or singing a lot, often I can nail a note dead center, though I need to 'hear' it on that instrument in my mind.

Ha. It's good to see Korrun has a sense of humor...but he's WRONG (think Mclaughlin group). My OP was about "in-game" commentary.
