So ToS is down (shocked, shocked I say!) and I can't remember how many force bubbles of each color there were in the original version. I think it was 10, 8, 6 but I don't know for sure and that map played well so I don't want to change it. Does anybody remember or perhaps have a way of looking at the map. The computer that has those graphics is in storage still (screw my landlord!).
The new version is almost ready for testing and I think it is gonna look very cool!
Dangit Yertle! I watched your video on YouTube thinking that you would have included that map because you liked it so much but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....your video is all Doom and Cumberdale!!
You were a wee young Risky at that time, I think Episode 1 was pretty new then.
I can't find a screenshot anywhere, 10/8/6 sounds logical, but not positive :/
I did find the thread about you leaving WF...silly monkey!
Funnily enough I have a copy Risky - no idea why but it's in my screenshots folder.
PM me your preferred email addy.
Cool. I think I got it good, however. I don't know about how it will play but I think it looks pretty dang cool.
You have given us some really good toys to play with tom!
Since AO is not gonna be up for public consumption just yet, here is a sneak peak at Gear Wars: The Force Unleashed
http://www.wargear.net/boards/designer/1555
I'll be starting test games tomorrow so if you want to try it out, post here. I'm not opening if for public beta just yet until I've played a few games on it and am more comfortable with how it works in this system.
wow count me in these maps you're churning out are looking really nice man.
I'm in as well, but I am a late night player most of the time.
Always in for testing new boards.
Ok, I've opened it up for public beta now:
http://www.wargear.net/games/create?boardid=1555&devmode=true (I think that is right)
The original ToS version had the number of Force Bubbles set at 10,5,5 and this has them set at 10,8,6. I think the original way might be the better way because in the games I've played so far there doesn't seem to be enough player fighting but I was Playing against Yertle and BlackDog who are both much better players than I am and also are both very familiar with the gameplay style of that map.
Please let me know what you think. I do not really want to play it since I totally suck at it but I do really love the concept and the looks.
P.S. tom, if you read this, when will AO games be ready for public consumption?

Pretty soon - I have a patch to release which relates to turn skipping / booting, once that is done I think we are ready to go.
So... Monday? Subject to Yertle's approval of course!
Lol Yertle has no approval power :p
That said, I'd sign off that I think big bugs are taken care of and wouldn't see a problem with Live stuff while the remaining kinks are worked out.
Although I haven't really seen Artillery, Abandon (can you eliminate yourself?), and maybe some more Capital scenarios which will probably be hit or raise more questions when those types of boards are created.
Cleaned up a few Help pages tonight and started the SimulGear one: http://www.wargear.net/help/display/Playing%20a%20game%20-%20SimulGear
Still a bit to do (finish how to make a turn, a how rounds are resolved page, and update the Rules page), but went smooth tonight.
Force Unleashed tournament is open. 8 player round robin with a pretty good trophy (could have cleaned it up more).
http://www.wargear.net/tournaments/view/195
Only 3 spots left! Who wouldn't want this trophy on their page?
Sorry, all filled up now
So far in the games I've played the 10-8-6 works fine. I don't think the 10-5-5 would play any differently though. I've never seen more than 2 blue and 1 red force bubble get taken in a game. Very nice job on the map Risky.
Sure you like this version Seige, you are kicking Jedi Butt in the tournament!
I like it this way too. First off, it gives the map less of an empty look and it also gives more options. Someone (I think KrocK) was bugging the hell out of me in a game by having all the purples and getting a +10 just for that. I had both sabers but he ended up taking one from me because he was getting the other bonus and I had to concentrate on taking his blues away.
So I'm creating a Multiplayer version with the options of playing it as a team game or a 6 player free for all but I'm wondering for ranking purposes if it would be better to make it a different map altogether or make them scenarios? I think a 6 player version of this map would really screw up rankings for people on the duel version, but I'll let you all decide.
I've been hoping for a more player version. Personally I think you should tack them on as Scenarios for Episode 2. I'm a fan of the multiple ranked scenarios idea.
Yertle: I really don't know what we'd be doing if tom didn't start WG
Yertle: scary to think about :p
RiskyBack: You'd have more kids and I'd have a real job, probably
