Really fun! The reason I don't give it a 10 is because the first 2 or 3 rounds, luck is the deciding factor, but you might survive that stage, and you might win!
Works fairly well for 3 or 4 over a good enough sample of games. This is a quick, somewhat systematic game that can reveal surprising complexity with a few playthroughs. Not so good for 2. As someone else already said, this was a very early iteration of the smaller, semi-symmetrical board concept, and as usual Cumberdale was right there at the cutting edge of innovation. This board is like an Apple IIC.
Without full fog, heavily weighted on first turn players, because they can all but eliminate the later players. I'm a fan of the middle space cut into opponent.
Seems to play much better with heavy fog--the fog seems to even the odds a bit for the players with later turns. Still, if you are unlucky enough to have a third or even fourth turn on this map, you're going to have a hard time.
Games move very quickly. I agree with other posters that 4 seems to be lopsided for the last player on this map. But with three it seems to move along very well.
To my knowledge, this map was the pioneer of the "less is more, but not idiotic" philosophy that influenced many board designers. I don't care for it, but respect its place in history. Risky Kong Lite.
A good board for 3-4. With 4 the last player could not have a turn or be crippled fast, so maybe 3 ius better... But straightforward, and a good board for a fast game.
