Moderately fun whimsical map. Pay close attention to the board description before starting. The second player has a big disadvantage. 65% of wins go to the first player. I would spend more time with it if it were more balanced.

better rating from me, however, the game that i'm presently in showed me the disadvantage of the second player. My first turn, my dog had been taken... made it pretty difficult, but i'm still fighting! i like the board still!

Having played both sides, I can say that the second play is at a noticeable disadvantage. Good idea, but less than stellar board.

Excellent game...some games are quick, some games take longer. Need some luck, some strategy!

On the one hand, this board is reasonably fun and enjoyable. It creatively uses Wargear's more advanced mechanics quite nicely while capturing the spirit of the game that it's based on.

On the other hand, first player does have a pretty significant advantage. That's a problem with most two-player boards in general, of course, but this one doesn't exactly help. The good news is it's not "solvable" like Five because of the dice; the bad news is, it's much easier to "solve" with the dice than Five was without it (HINT: Kill everything!).

EDIT: Increased rating from 5 to 7 after some thought. Yes, first player does have a serious advantage, but it's not "broken" in the sense that there's a move or a set of moves that first player can always use that guarantees victory or replays the same winning game over and over again. Plus, it is fun even as the disadvantaged second player, so there is that.

I agree with previous people's comments about too much advantage going to the first person.

This is an excellent concept for a map with great graphics and theme. Unfortunately, there is too much power in the first persons first turn and it is too hard for the second player to keep their dog. With a few minor tweaks this could be a great board.

Beautiful look to it, first of it's kind to use artillery in a novel way, and once you figure it out, it's fun! UNTIL... you really figure it out.

Fun board with great use of the WarGear system! Learning curve is associated with it, but fairly quick and easy to understand.

I think this game is fun and easy to understand - but I find it pretty frustrating that someone can take the dog and then the gun on the first turn. This happened against me and I couldn't place my reinforcements - which is an automatic loss before you get a first turn. This might not happen often, but it can happen and is pretty brutal. Instead of receiving so many reinforcements on your first turn, perhaps those units should begin in the gun to start.
