Hey,
I just missed a chat message until after I'd taken my turn, for about the millionth time, and thought I'd make a feature request. I think it makes sense to have the chat window at the left side, rather than at the bottom. If you don't think to scroll down and look, any message content is hidden when you start your turn. With the newer widescreen monitors, there's almost always wasted space at the left and right of the map anyway.
Thoughts?
John
I have a widescreen myself but I don't think everyone uses that....several will have smaller units, some are on phones. Not sure how it would work for them.
Do you make use of the message notification on your My Games page? It should let you know if a message has been posted before you load the game.
+1
Last I checked, we don't write in tategaki here.
Sorry, but it's a really bad proposal in many ways. I don't want to have to scroll to the right to play, specially given that the mouse wheel is by default attached to the vertical scroll bar.
Just grow the habit of checking the messages before playing.
I think there are 3 people talking about 3 different things:
Ghengis John - Which chat do you mean?
1) The Chat bar which is on the bottom of EVERY screen which is used for player to player communications while logged into the site? This bar floats at the bottom of your screen all the time, so scrolling isn't necessary.
2) the in-game messages which are at the bottom of the player window and the game screen, which looks to be what Red Shift is discussing
3) Or are you talking about direct messages (the envelope icon in the top right or any screen) which are closer to emails than chat messages.
Sorry, I missed noticing BorisTheFrugal's response... I was referring to the in-game messages, at the bottom of the player window and the game screen.
