Not surprisingly, it looks like the site has had more more people join in the last four days than over the last two months.

Give it a break Aiken.  If Camel/xyz was using alts, Tom would have banned him for cheating.  Since he didn't ban him for cheating, we can assume he was being honest when he said he never used alts.

So, while Camel seems to be the darling of the members here sporting stars on their epaulets these days after his junkie confession begging for his fix, some of those admitting they had never played him, there are those of us who have.  This thread might be an appropriate spot to do some enlightening. Ever wonder where new members flock to in search of a game when they first join? RT games. And who do they encounter? The likes of Camel. I tried to recruit a couple of friends here back in the day, you'll never guess which goodwill ambassador they encountered and decided against staying. I doubt my buddies were the only ones. I wonder if any of you ever considered that this lowlife was waiting at the door for folks, essentially the "Wargear Greeter". 

So, no, if a few of you who did not have that much contact with him rally on his behalf, that's fine. But part of this process should also be that he takes the shots he deserves from those of us that did have contact. 

How many users that had contact with him joined the welcome wagon for him in the "I am Legend" thread? That should tell you something. Nothing personal against the brass, I just believe they may not have considered the whole picture here.

If I were Tom the ONLY way I would have allowed Camel back was as a standard member, thus allowing him to be blocked form Premium members. Might have even spiked Premium memberships with that.

I had played camel enough to avoid him as much as possible, and even reported him to Tom. But I haven't played RT games since I joined, and I agree that many new players probably did encounter him along the way, and that likely affected their decision to stay or not on the site.

He was banned. Tom just hasn't got around to banning yet another account he made to circumvent the ban.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "alt".  xyz said "I have *never* held more than one active account at a time.".

Yes, apparently he was a 10th level asshole.  I don't think I ever played a game against him, but I saw his attitude in forum posts complaining about him.  It really sucks if he drove away new players, and maybe that's part of why Tom banned him.  It seems to me like he's decided to try and not be an asshole anymore, and (assuming that is true), I applaud him for it. 

I guess we'll have to wait to see if Tom is still going to ban him or not.  If he reverts back to his old behavior I hope he does get banned.

To get this thread back on track - I see we hit 117 today for players at a time. Most ever was 135, of course, back in 2011.  Anyone think we will beat that record in the upcoming weeks?

Hey Everyone. One thing about a shelter in place order is it gives people time to reflect on those things you used to enjoy before you started working crazy hours. I just hope I remember how to play.  =)
