Just curious what other's opinions are.
My vote goes to the Myth series (Fallen Lords, Soulblighter). Very deep and haunting.
My vote goes to Bastion.
Hands down Final Fantasy; as a whole, but particularly #6 or #3(in North america)
Here's some more evidence for my geek credentials. When I was a wee lad, I had to go on a family vacation and I was deeply in the middle of x-wing or tie-fighter (old lucas arts star wars flight sims). I knew I was going to miss the game so much, I connected my cassette player to my sound card and recorded myself playing for 90m and brought my walkman and that tape and listened to that on vacation.
For best video game music, my vote is for the monkey island series.
Legends of Zelda - Ocarina of Time. [Conversation Over]
And Ozy - I'll second Monkey Island, but for nothing more than an honorable mention.
Ohh... Zelda has has some good tunes...
Lol Ozy, your post had me laughing. I can certainly relate.
IT may seem like shameless self promotion, but the music for the game I have on Xbox is really good.

Oh, for the love of pastrami...
I think I have to go with Katamari Damacy. Amazing game, amazing soundtrack.

EN - You're an amazing human being, but you owe me 1:04 of my life back.

+1
This is what I meant to post, but that was also not entirely a mistake. I watched the video. This one is less... colorful?

Just re-listened to Tron:Legacy by Daft Punk. Amazing score. I guess I overlooked this a bit due to a somewhat bland movie.
