I recently joined an A&a open game and noticed the fog setting on, thinking this was light fog (meaning I could see ownership and troop counts to countries adjacent to me).
However, once the game began, the game was total fog (can only see ownership and troops of countries my teammate and I own). Now, after the initial turn or two, I stated the case that the total fog had devolved the game from one of skill to a complete guessing contest.
Another player argued against that, basically making the case that the total fog makes the game even more one of skill. He is free to post his whole argument here.
I'm curious to what the rest of the community thinks, especially A&Aers.
I think the guy developped his argumentation a bit earlier :)
