I tried using the search feature to find the thread on this, but it came up with nothing. I recall tom claiming to have made this better, but I've been noticing over the last few days that everyone is starting with largish clumps of territories in all my games. Did the better randomization get reset in another change? Does it need further improvement? Is my limited experience more of an anomaly?

I did fix two bugs relating to the randomness of the starting position, as far as I know it's working fine now but there could still be something amiss.

Can you provide examples?

This one's not so bad, I probalby otherwise wouldn't have noticed but orange mostly in the upper left, gray mostly at the bottom.

And most recently this one, where Grey is almost all in the Balkans and purple is heavily invested in Austria, from what I can see. Almost all of Grey (my) territories are touching each other.

When I go back and look at them now, they're not quite as bad as I recalled when I made this post, but there is still more concentration than I would expect. Having the fog on makes it more noticable, as one whole half of the map is blurred out; whereas as the start of a game, I expect to see parts of all of it.

I don't play many games, though, so my sample size is pretty small. That's why I made this post more as a question than comment.
