Recently I have found that I'm often getting a long delay in my moves. Everything will be running fine, and I'll be able to make 10 moves in a row (each taking maybe 2 seconds to process), and then all of the sudden maybe 2 or 3 successive turns will both take 15-20 seconds to process each. Then, magically fixes itself again (back to lightening quick).
I'm using Firefox, so I questioned whether it was that, but I saw the same problem when I switched to IE too. I'm running on a T1 connection at work, and a cable at home, and have seen the problem on both networks, so I don't think that the ISP should be a problem.
Is anyone else having the same issues? Or is it possible that I'm just getting paranoid? I never had the problem 2 months ago, but now it happens all the time.
I seem to get that fairly often, and it seems to come and go. I don't know if time of day is a factor, but I'm usually playing in the evenings (after 9pm mountain time).
Similar experience. I use Safari (Mac) at home and Chrome (PC) at work. Both my home and work internet connections are nice and zippy, but every once in a while rolling a handful of dice takes 5 to 10 seconds for somewhere between 1 and 5 rolls in a row. The problem comes and goes with seemingly no rhyme or reason. I'd say 95% of the time everything is fine.
Similar experience with IE. Happens since a few weeks. Usualy it was only happening at 11:00 (Brussels time)
I agree with all of the above descriptions. If it's linked to time of day, it's more often during the daytime for me (central), when I play first thing in the morning or at the end of my workday. At least I'm not the only one finding this. Thanks!! Maybe Tom knows what it is, or maybe it's just anomolous, but I'm glad it's not just my system.
Thanks for the reports I'll look into it. It would be helpful if you could post here exact times when it is slow over the next couple of days (include your timezone!).
It was the case just after I wrote my message, so 12 nov 2011 00:31 to 00:33 (Brussels time).
For the last 5 minutes -- most pages have been very sluggish ..if not frozen.
Right now -- can't get this page to load.

Edit: Actually ..can't get any player to load. Interestingly enough, the page loads and the messages show. Just no player -- will check on my other computer see if it's consistent.
Back to normal at 19:40

Odd - the server is very lightly loaded at the moment. I'll keep looking into it.
Let me make sure that I'm clear: at 8:49AM US Central, I was playing, and turns took no time at all.
Then, at 8:50-51, I had 3 successive turns that took ~20 seconds apiece.
I click the button, it registers the click, I get the spinning hour glass for 20 seconds, and then my turn goes. I click the button again, same thing, 3rd time, same thing.
Then, I click the button a 4th time, and it's lightening fast again.
From the IT perspective, it's almost like a process/application on the server is getting locked for a second.
Since I'm having a problem with it at my work, I might ask what Antivirus you're running.
Being that our customers are all good sized corporations, we run Symantec to match them.
We have found recently (especially in the latest version SEP 11) that Symantec will periodically lock up while it's doing something in the background (we haven't been able to determine what).
As a result a number of our processes timeout while waiting for Symantec to finish whatever it's doing.
The timeouts are almost all in the 5-20 second range.
Maybe you're having the same/similar issue??
Thanks for the detail - it all helps.
Same thing just happened to me, exactly as Boris described. 13:21 to 13:23 US Eastern Time
Getting lots of spinning clocks. 4:30 PM EST
8:48am US Central...
4:37 PM EST any page takes ~10 seconds to load.
11/15/11 9:54 US Mountain (MST), 15 seconds to transfer units after a successful attack on Tower Defense, Chrome
Thanks folks I think I have enough data points now. I'm working on an update to fix this problem.
