Any way to determine, on two player boards, the % of games where the game creator is assigned to seat 1?

    Where's the ammo?

shouldn't it be 50%?  I assume who created the game is not an input into deciding who sits in what seat.

Agree, but I have my suspicions.  Looking for a data crunch.

    Where's the ammo?

Mongrel, Do you suspect that in 2-player games the inviter or invitee gets first seat more often, or do you just suspect that it's skewed but you're not sure which way?

It should be possible to play WG boards in real-time ..without the wait, regardless of how many are playing.

I suspect that board creator gets 1st seat more than 55% of the time. Gun-to-my-head guess is 60%.

I just checked 30 Appomattox games and counted 18-12 in favor of the invited player.  I'm going to speculate that site-wide, and given a few thousand 2 player matches, it's within 2% of 50-50.

50 spy games: 28-22. Of course, I could be wrong.

Meaning 56% of the spy games gave 1st seat to the game creator.

out of the intensely rigorous sample size of 50 games.

    Where's the ammo?

I've been thinking for some time that it would be nice if game logs were available for download.  There are a lot of interesting statistics that could be calculated, and this is just one more.

I know that when I played spies a lot and created games I would play as black very often and that when I joined games I would play as white very often.  These were subjective thoughts to be sure, but I have wondered the same thing for a while.

What sort of thing are you interested in? Individual game logs would be easy to arrange downloads.

Other stuff should be quite easy to arrange.

Whatever you make available will be fun and interesting and immediately cause us to want more.

I think having a single game log won't be too helpful, really what I want (as a map designer) is the ability to download the history of every game played on my maps in one bundle.  Maybe just public games if you think there is a privacy issue.

Mainly what I would like to do is look for balance issues in my maps.  For example:

#) wins by seat position only including games with X players above N ranking.  (because a game with just a bunch of newbs isn't as relevant)

#) correlations between controlling certain continents & winning the game.  (i.e. the 1st person to keep australia for 2 turns wins >50% of the games).

I'm sure there is more I could come up with once I thought about it more.  I'll try to write automated tools in javascript so that  I can make them available to everyone via a website or something.  And then once I have the basics done I can take suggestions as to what other people would like to see.

Isn't there data from the LHC that you all can be crunching in your spare time?
