Guys, I've lost countless real-time games because the wargear site becomes inaccessible for a few minutes, causing me to miss turns.

Please do something about this !

    Thanks!

This is the first report we've had of this happening and I'm not aware of any server problems. Can you post in this thread the next time it happens (when the connection is restored)?

Also when Wargear is next unavailable can you check this site to confirm whether it is your connection or a more general problem?

hmm .. I had the same problem a few times .. The site went down and I noticed that it happened at exactly 11:00am (european time, it would be at 5:00am at the time of default).. The other day too. It was 30.3.2011 and 31.3.
I can't play about 15 min. so I miss my turn in real-time game.

no big deal, just to mention :)

There is a daily server backup which takes about 10 minutes and runs at  5am server time. Unfortunately there's really no good time to do it where there's noone in the world using the site.

FWIW, I quite frequently find the server unresponsive for brief intervals - anything from a few tens of seconds up to a few minutes.  Typically, I click the [refresh] button on my My Games page, and the Firefox status indicator spins in the "Connecting" state for a long time before finally getting "transferring data from..." and updating the page.

Other, non-WarGear internet access is OK in these intervals.

It seems to be getting worse, I figured the server is getting overloaded as the usage goes up.

Yeah it seemed pretty bad the last two days.  Definitely the worst I remember for my time at wargear.  I did check http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/wargear.net, and it said it was up, but I couldn't connect for minutes at a time.  (which really is not too bad, and way better than what I've put up with in the past)

A server upgrade is in the works and should happen within the next 2 weeks.

This should give WG a serious performance increase esp. during busy periods.

good deal, cus it's all agonizingly slow lately (mainly when trying to scroll down/up) loading things seems to be relatively ok.

    I'm a man.
    But I can change,
    if I have to,
    I guess...

What do you mean by 'mainly when trying to scroll down/up'? This is presumably a function of your browser / computer speed?

dunno, yesterday with both work and home PCs it would take 10-12 seconds to scroll down thru to the bottom of this forum page. doesn't seem to be happening today. and it very well may have been my PCs but it seemed to only be this site that was bogging down.

They main place  I noticed slow down is when using the player.  I'd click to attack or fortify, and would get the spinning circle for 10 seconds to a minute.
