Luck and Dice stats have now been added to the site. Luck stats are a Premium Member only feature, Dice stats are available to everyone. You should now see a link to the Luck Stats page on the Game view page. There are also direct icon links to the luck chart and table from the game player page for Premium members.
The luck stat is calculating the number of units that have been killed above or below what is expected based on expected outcomes of the dice rolls. That is; after some number of dice rolls each player has an expected number of kills and loses and this calculates the difference. Built in is that for every game the overall luck of the game is zero. So, for someone to be lucky someone else has to be unlucky.
A big thank you to Mongrel and Alpha who came up with the math and the code for implementing the Luck calculation system.
Please note luck stats are not currently available for SimulGear boards.
Any comments, problems or feedback please let me know here.
Woohoo!
Sounds great!
tom - Can you please post this explanation to the Help section for new players?
ATH
When clicking the luck stats (the clover icon) my browser (firefox) automatically resizes itself to an increadibly small size such that I can only see a couple of cells of the table.
Also, it would be nice if the luck stats might open in another window so that players do not have to hit the back button and reload the board. Perhaps the stats and graph could open similarly to how a view of the board opens when clicking the view state button next to someone's comment.

I second the motion for opening in another tab/window.
This should be fixed now - it was supposed to open up in a popup, a file upload was missing.
It works now (at least with Chrome). Thanks!
The Luck Stats pop-up window (Firefox) could be a bit bigger, seems to always need expanding (height) to view all the rows.

looks like it works for IE7
As always, I am deeply impressed with your turnaround time. Well done Tom!
Luck stats look great! I don't see 'dice stats'. Where should I be looking for this?

Dice distribution is on the Luck Stats page linked from the Game View page (ie http://www.wargear.net/games/view/45791 ), in the table on the left at the bottom (just below the Log File).

It looks like Luck Stats and Dice are not collected for Team mates when Fog is on but Team Vision is enabled.
Also, Suggestion to have Team Luck calculated.

Thanks - I guess I just saw the chart and didn't bother to scroll down.
The slider underneath the graph is a WONDERFUL feature because it "re"-starts the calculations at 0, but I've noticed that the compiled numbers below the chart, which represent the range of the entire game, do not restart at that point. Any chance this could be accomplished?
Any chance these could be input boxes (between ___ and ___) instead of a slider bar? Don't get me wrong I think the slider bar is slick, but I find it difficult to narrow in on a specific turn when the game is long.
By the way, I am glad to see that the line stops when a player is eliminated.
I see the Luck Stats link is not present for SG games on the Game View page, should the links on the Game Player page in the breadcrumb area also be removed for SG games?

Yes to all the last 3 questions :)
Thanks tom.
Just out of curiosity, for non-premium members - Are there links to the luck stats on their pages that bring a pop-up that reminds them that it's a premium feature?
