When you are eliminated from a game, you usually don't see it no more as most players will use the filter to view only Live (not eliminated) games. Thus you can't see if someone send you a message (or reply to one of yours). I think it would be good if the Home page tab called Messages was blinking for every message you have, with a link to the game board, as it is for private messages. Of course, sometimes it would be a public message between the other players and you don't care about it.
Any other solution to avoid leaving messages unread ?
Perhaps an 'activity since last visit' page / popup would be good?
e.g. showing something like:
'You were eliminated in game xxxx'
'Your turn in game yyyy'
What do you think?
I like. Perhaps it could be something that you can turn off as a option.
You could always check your Finished games list, and every now and then set the list to All and click the Message icon. This is what I do every so often.

This is what I do too. I thought it would be nice to have it automated. I believe many players don't even know they have messages, or like me in the past, they would discover them a few months later.

Could be good with a line like 'You have zzzz public messages'
