I'm probably missing something simple, but is there a setting to change my e-mail notifications to be in plain text?
I get e-mail notifications while I'm at work, and I'm often working behind a firewall on a protected system. When I scroll through my outlook the autopreview tries to download the images contained in the e-mail (WarGear icon for instance) and it hangs my outlook for 3 minutes while it waits for the timeout. I'd be interested in changing the e-mail type to text only (similar to WF), so it won't try to download anything.
I looked thru the notification and personal settings, and I can't seem to find a checkbox that would allow me to change that setting.
Pardon my blindness if it's right there and I don't see it.
You're right there is no setting currently - the emails are sent out as dual format html / txt and your mail client is supposed to auto-detect which one it can display. Doesn't help in your case though as you're behind the firewall.
I'll add an option for this.
I added a new option on the notifications page for Text format emails.
