This board has loads of features - read the description or you will lose the game. Read it again in the middle of the game, because by the time you have the troops to work with, you won't remember what all the stuff does.
Beautiful board, well-executed concept, loads of flexibility, strategically tricky trade-offs, and reasonably well-balanced without being symmetrical. I can't imagine anyone ever getting to a stalemate on this one.
I was going to give this a nine, but realized there was literally nothing more I could ask for in a board design.
Incredible design, providing unique plays from all 4 starting positions. Different strategies can pay off depending on starting position and continent. I definitely prefer the original to the barbarians form, but is fun in both instances.
As hesitant as i am to give a perfect score, this board is awesome. I have been wanting to do this kind of thing for a long time, and it is great. Really expands the options every turn and changes strategy. Well executed, good look, great concept. Not the simplest board for beginners though.
SICK, I love it. I'm horrible at the Barbarians scenario, but am sure to be there to raise your rank! The tech tree is perfectly balanced between the three choices, Africa having the hardest decision to make here since it has no benefits to tech. I thought Asian life gains were hopeless until I fortified 30 troops to my front each turn and smashed continents down. Fun all around. Many different strategies to utilize. Enjoy with any number of players or a team of them.
