Board DescriptionBattle to control the fabled posh north shore of exotic Long Island. Lined with lush parks, golf courses, marinas, country clubs, and even a functioning military base, you will have to use all your wits to defeat the enemy. Thankfully, there is both an exclusive railroad and a beautiful waterway through the Long Island Sound to help you navigate the territory. Just as so many of the residents are born with a silver spoon in their mouths, you, the warlord, are blessed with a card to begin your conquest. Use it at your leisure. Life is not a bowl of cherries from there however. You will suffer many tragedies and lose many men in battle. Specifically, attacking into parks from residential areas is quite difficult, as those parklands are heavily wooded and mysterious. Smaller parks can only accomodate a limited number of men. When posessed, the most prized real-estate of West Egg will allow you to see into all the parks. Posessing both parts of West Egg also yields a troop bonus, as does controlling Great Neck Bay. Control of any of the three peninsulas (Little Neck, Great Neck, Port Washington) will grant you a 5 troop bonus. You need not control the train stations for said bonus, but you do need all the parks. The railway that connects the villages presents a challenge to cross when the track travels above ground. Moving by train is facilitated by an attack bonus from station to station. Moving by boat is not so easy, however. The smaller bays can not accomodate unlimited troops, and attacking from the sea onto the beach is also done at a disadvantage, except for Steppingstone Park and West Egg itself, which have large open beachfronts. A seasoned warrior will also learn that the Merchant Marine Academy is heavily fortified on it's eastern walls. Invincibility lies in the defence; the possibility of victory in the attack.
